What is the Japanese Drums Festival?:

It is the music festival that cerebrates the coming of  spring. This year will be the 30th time so its history is not so old. But it is really popular for tourists and more than 200,000 people come over to see it every year.You can enjoy listening the beautiful combinations of drums beats as well as street foods and parades.

Place and Access:

JR Narita station or Keisei Line Narita station are the nearest stations if you take a train.It will be 1 minute walk to the main street (成田山表参道:Naritasan omotesando). And to the temple where the main stage is about a 10 minute walk.
You can also drive to the place but there might be no spot to park when it is busy. It may be better to take public transportation.

Time Schedule of  2018:

April 14th : From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

15th : From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.(If it rains too hard it might be cancelled)

On the 14th

In front of the main stage, you can see the big show called 成田山千年夜舞台 (Naritayama sennnennya buyati) at 5 p.m. More than 2,000 people enjoy this. So, if you want to see the whole part clearly, you need to get your seats a few hours before.

On the 15th

The highlight of the day is the drums parade. Dancers and drums players are all dressed up and what beautiful is not only listening but also watching.You should listen to the powerful sound of it!!

For the beginners to see Omotesando Stage

There will be more than 20 teams to participate this festival and you can see their performances here. It is not a too big stage and it is so cool to see them that close. You cannot take your eyes off!!
